Description: Dougherty Orchards est. 1883, is the oldest family owned and operated orchard in the state of Indiana.
The Apple House: features, many varieties of apples, local honey and candies, jams, jellies and butters of every variaty, caramel apples, gourmet carameled apples and unique gifts.
On the weekends, come and watch us make our famous fresh Cider Donuts or enjoy an Apple Dumpling.
Pick-Your-Own: We feature a wonderful area for Pick-Your-Own apples.
While you are here you won't want to miss our "McMaze Indiana". For the 2003 season, we are featuring a multi-acre cornfield likeness of David Letterman! Opens Labor Day weekend thru October. Tours: Tours are scheduled in September and October for Tuesday/ Wednesday/ Thursday. Tours include The Apple House- Petting Farm- Apple Orchard and Straw Castle. For an additional fee we can add the McMaze and/or the Pumpkin Patch. There is no charge for teachers. Each person recieves: Animal food for the petting farm, A drink of fresh cider, his/her own apple in the orchard, and has a fun filled educational day! Restroom facilities, picnic area for sack lunches or we can even have Happy Meals delivered for your group!
Petting Farm: Ol' McDougherty's Petting Farm, features Family Fun! Enjoy a stroll around the pond with the animals! Pet, feed and play with, birds, ducks, geese, goats (large and small), llamas, miniature horses, miniature donkeys, deer, pigs, cavies, wallabies, muntjacs and our friendly "guard" dog.
Gift Boxes: We ship gift boxes of apples, UPS nationwide, every Monday.
